Are you passionate about sustainable livestock farming and eager to work in a close-knit family farm environment? Blackbird Farm is seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Part-Time or Full-Time Farm Hand. As a vital member of our farming family, you will play a crucial role in various aspects of daily farm operations. This is a hands-on job for a person that likes animals, loves to be outside and experience nature.
Responsibilities:
1. Livestock Care: Assist in the care of our cattle and pigs, ensuring their well-being and health. This includes, but isn’t limited to, cleaning pens and barns, feeding, watering, moving, tagging and vaccinating the animals.
2. Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain farm equipment such as tractors, skid-steers, trucks with trailers, haying equipment, mowers, and other machinery.
3. General Farm Maintenance: Contribute to the upkeep of buildings, fences, and other farm infrastructure.
4. Assist with Seasonal Tasks: Engage in seasonal activities such as haymaking and other farm-related tasks.
Qualifications:
– Previous farm experience is preferred but not required.
– Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
– Physical stamina and ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
– Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
– Willingness to learn and adapt to various farm tasks.
Compensation:
– Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
