A local food cafe & culinary job-readiness training for under-served youth Harvest Kitchen is program of Farm Fresh RI.

We are a local food cafe and culinary job training program for youth ages 16–20 involved with the RI Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). Our trainees work to create value-added products using ingredients sourced from local farms. Sales from our cafe directly support our training program! Order take-out or enjoy our sunlit cafe space Monday-Friday, 10am-3pm in downtown Pawtucket!

This week, our youth trainees baked and decorated dozens of cookies and gluten free brownies for Valentine's Day! They showed their creative sides with some beautiful designs.

We packaged up the desserts for family, friends, and Farm Fresh RI staff ... just in time for a sweet Valentine's Day treat.

We are delighted to have our first cohort of youth trainees in our new Harvest Kitchen space at 10 Sims Ave. While our cafe isn’t yet open to the public, the students are busy assisting with catering orders, school lunches, and processing sweet potatoes. But that’s not all, we’re also learning to make some of their favorite foods from scratch ... like pancakes! 🥞 🍳🥓

For the past week, Harvest Kitchen staff was hard at work making cranberry sauce for Farm Fresh Rhode Island's Thanksgiving Boxes. It was quite the process - from cooking down the apples and cranberries, to blending them into a sauce, to portioning each container, and finally, labelling the containers for sale!

It's time for some Farm to School month trivia! 🍎🥪

Did you know that Harvest Kitchen proudly provides school lunches to several facilities in the Providence area? In addition to our ongoing partnership with St. Patrick's Academy, we're excited to share that we've recently started serving up delicious, wholesome meals at in Wayland Square.

Big shoutout to our HK superstar, Charreese, who ensures the students get a fresh, tasty lunch packed with the nutrition they need to thrive. Meals made with love, every single day. 💛👩🏾‍🍳
