To say we are disappointed is an understatement. We fought hard, presented facts, and did everything we could, yet a fair conclusion was never truly on the table.

Chairman Peter Mancini is close friends with a business owner who benefits greatly from this decision, so unfortunately it felt like a losing battle from the start.

We presented the board with opposition from over 25 businesses against Al Fresco dining, far outweighing the handful pushing for it. Despite that, and despite the impact this will have on many businesses seeing potential sales decreases of 40–60%, along with residents expressing frustration, the vote still swung in favor of keeping it.

The Providence Board of Licenses voted in favor of allowing Al Fresco on the Hill to run through Labor Day weekend.
