A story deeply rooted in our Salisbury community… 💔✨

When local author Stephanie L. Fowler set out to write Chasing Alice (published in 2020), she wasn’t just writing a book—she was honoring her beloved former Parkside High School English teacher, Alice Davis, whose tragic loss in September 2011 deeply impacted the entire Eastern Shore.
To write this powerful memoir and biography, Stephanie worked closely with Alice’s family, interviewing her two sisters: Barrie Parsons Tilghman (former Salisbury mayor) and Ellen Hitch.

Because so many local families knew Alice as a teacher, friend, or mentor—or have connections to the Tilghman and Hitch families—this story belongs to all of Salisbury. It’s a moving look at Alice’s life, her lasting legacy, and the resilience of our community.

Join us at Green Hill Country Club for an intimate evening with Stephanie as she shares her journey writing this book and capturing Eastern Shore history.

Stephanie is a proud Eastern Shore native, Washington College Sophie Kerr Prize winner, and the owner of Salt Water Media. Many in our community know her powerful book, Chasing Alice—a deeply moving memoir and true crime account about the tragic disappearance of beloved Parkside High School English teacher, Alice Davis.
Beyond Chasing Alice, Stephanie has captured Eastern Shore history and local true crime in The Wicomico County Jail Murders, as well as her Shore-centered short story collection, Crossings.
