The General Store has been a landmark and meeting place of the old mining town of Randsburg since the 1930s since it changed over from Jone's Drug Co. It is known for its long counters, antique backbars, old fashioned soda fountain and active malt machines. It is both is both a sit-down restaurant (serving many different breakfast and lunch items) and a general store and includes memorabilia, maps

and locally-published histories on Randsburg. The living ghost town is just off of Highway 395 that connects LA with Bishop and Mammoth Mountain on the east side of the Sierras. Come visit a snapshot of the old California mining days.

Desert race in Apple Valley at Dead Man's Point in about 1969. The 15 year-old fellow in the dark leather jacket on the Triumph, briefly leading the pros, used to be me. I think I finished this particular race second to last in my class, which is pretty much where I finished most races if I didn't crash first.
