Yes, business is down at the beach resorts this summer, especially when compared to that glorious 3 days of business we had at our Woodstock, NY location in 1969. Despite putting up our “Restrooms Are For Customers Only” signs and our “No Festival Parking In Our Parking Lot” signs, we were soon overwhelmed by concert goers, many of whom began ordering our corned beef HASH, mistaking it for something else. Our hash became famous, and the rest is history. Want some great corned beef hash? Rosenfeld’s has the best! In Rehoboth Beach and in South Bethany, and we’re open until 7:00 every night. Rock on! A little history lesson — our sandwiches were installed up and down the coast during World War 2 to serve as lookout posts, so that our soldiers could spot Japanese or German submarines in plenty of time to take military action against them. Unfortunately, the seagulls also thought that the sandwiches were a good idea, and they had a feeding frenzy at each one shortly after installation. So, it didn’t work out as planned.
