Today, we celebrate Juneteenth a day that marks freedom, resilience, and the continued pursuit of equality.

As a Black woman entrepreneur and the founder of Rising For People Coffee, I don’t take for granted the opportunities, sacrifices, and generations of courage that made it possible for me to build this business. Every cup we serve, every employee we hire, and every community initiative we support is rooted in the belief that businesses can be a force for positive change.

Juneteenth is a reminder that freedom is not just a moment in history it’s a responsibility. A responsibility to create opportunities, support one another, and continue building communities where everyone has the chance to thrive.

Between flights, brunch, and our 30oz cowboy boots, today was one of our busiest days yet. Seeing our café filled with familiar faces, new guests, and so much community support means more than you know.

On days like this, we strive for perfection but we’re human, and we know not every experience may have been exactly what we hoped it would be.
