The kickoff FIFA game Thurs, June 11 is vs Mexico and South Africa. To celebrate the games and the exciting mix of cultures, Liberty Cafe will be offering a daily kaleidoscope of different food and drinks endemic to the countries of the competing teams. In honor of Mexico we will feature our rich Mexican Mochas enhanced with vanilla, cinnamon, almond and select spices. For South African we are featuring a unique sandwich, Braaibroodjie described on separate post. , , , ,

Let the games begin. In honor of the FIFA games about to begin tomorrow, June 11th, Liberty Cafe is giving a gastronomic welcome to each of the competing teams by offering a food or drink endemic to their countries.. We will feature Mexican Mochas infused w Cinnamon, vanilla, almond and select spices ( next photo up) . Our food treat is one seemingly difficult to pronounce but easy to enjoy.. Braaibroodjie (pronounced Bry broo kee) sammies. South Africa's Grilled cheese taken up a culinary notch w a blend of cheeses, tomatoes, onions, and mango chutney. So tasty ! , , , ,

Must Sea! Our local artists never cease to amaze me. Our May artist, Linda Logie takes resin pour art to a whole new level. Like a Rorsarch test, after she finishes a resin pour, she sees an image within the swirls. She then takes her magical artistic fingers and paints amazing detailed illustrations on multilayers on top of the resin pour. Each piece is a unique masterpiece...full of incredible detail. We're thrilled to have been nominated finalists in three categories in the Best of Renton competition. Unfortunately, the Renton reporter somehow didn't include us in the last print edition but we are most importantly on the digital edition and that's where you vote. We have been nominated for 3 categories : best Cafe/ Coffee house; Best Breakfast, and Best Sandwich. Those grilled all day breakfast sammies and paninis sure are popular. Connie has been practicing a variety of painting throughout the years but she became enthralled with oil painting after taking Tabitha Brown's oil painting class at the Senior Center last year..
