It’s been 6 months since our little house has closed and I’m having a moment of gratitude, memory and dreaming as I sit in my backyard realizing how alive ‘Staycation’ is in my heart and as a way of ‘being’ in my life.
I took this shot because everything in my view is some piece of that small house where on a morning like this, there’d be people scattered throughout the backyard- reading, enjoying coffee, children playing… but mostly, taking some time to simply ‘be’ and hold still for a bit.
The world is an interesting place right now; many people without jobs due to mass layoffs, fear of the unknown and this new entity of AI, questions around what the future is going to look like for our children, etc.
As these and other issues have had their moments of crippling me with fear, anger and overload, I’m realizing that what continues to be of utmost importance is my dedication to making time for and acknowledging the small whispers of life- gathering with close friends, making coffee as a morning ritual, paying attention to the buds of new life on the trees and remembering our innate ability as creators to shape the world around us.

I hope your Sunday is filled with delicious coffee, people you love and a few moments of deep gratitude.
