🇨🇦❤️🇺🇸 Canada Day is almost here, and America's 250th Independence Day celebration is right around the corner! 🎆
While we love backyard BBQs, parades, and fireworks, our four-legged family members may not feel the same. Here are 10 ways to help your pets stay safe and stress-free during the celebrations:
🐾 1. Keep pets indoors before the fireworks begin.
🎇 2. Close curtains and blinds to reduce flashing lights.
🎵 3. Turn on calming music or the TV to help drown out loud booms.
🏷️ 4. Double-check collars and ID tags (and make sure microchip information is current).
🚪 5. Secure gates, doors, and fences—frightened pets can be escape artists.
🍔 6. Keep BBQ foods away from curious noses. Corn cobs, onions, grapes, chocolate, alcohol, and cooked bones can all be dangerous.
🧊 7. Provide fresh water and a cool place to relax, especially during hot summer weather.
🧸 8. Offer a favorite toy, chew, or frozen treat to help keep them occupied.
🚫 9. Never bring pets to fireworks displays. Their hearing is much more sensitive than ours.
❤️ 10. Stay calm yourself! Pets often take their cues from us, so your relaxed attitude can help them feel safe.
From our family at Scoop-a-Doodle-Doo, we wish everyone a safe, happy holiday filled with family, friends, furry companions... and maybe a little ice cream! 🍦🐶
