There are many dining options at Primo, established in 2000 within an 1886 country farmhouse on a hill overlooking the Rockland harbor. Over the years, the restaurant has gone through several phases of expansion, and today offers dining on two levels, outside porch seating, a bungalow featuring an outdoor bar, and a beautiful barn that may be rented for your wedding or special event. On the first
floor, two historic and intimate dining rooms provide a white tablecloth ambiance for dinner service. To your left as you enter, our Primo Room is larger, with a more modern country design, with exquisite Italian stone flooring. Up on our second floor there are two smaller dining rooms with reserved tables as well as out Counter Room and Cocktail Lounge that offer bar seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Private celebrations can be enjoyed at our Farmers Table located just off the Counter Room. Our beverage selection features Primo specialty cocktails made with farm-grown ingredients, a 400-bottle wine list with ample by-the-glass options, and craft brews on tap and in bottle from some of the best local, regional and national producers. The Primo Farm with 4+ acres is where guests enjoy self-guided wandering along the garden paths, viewing the ducks, pigs, honey bees, and chickens, while discovering a great variety of vegetables, fruits, and other edibles we grow ourselves. The view of the sea from the farm hilltop includes the Rockland Breakwater and Lighthouse, which you can enjoy on a summer afternoon with a refreshment from 0km (zero-kay-emm). In 2023, Executive Chef Melissa Kelly is excited to celebrate her 24th season of growing and cooking for the Midcoast Maine community and beyond.
