Hey,
It's David here. This is a post that is difficult to post. I am sure most of you know we are not going to reopen.

**BUT, I do have an idea**

This was my Mother's dream. Most of you know that she passed away over 11 years ago. So to just close up and be gone would be a shame. Lets make a project together.

I want to make a cookbook with all the secret recipes. But I want it to be more than that. I want to share stories and photos of you! Share fun stories about us. I want to this to be something we look at and smile. While also telling you how easy it is to cook the bread.

I want to know your experiences and favorites.
So what I need from you is:
-Photos
-Your Favorite dish and why? What made it your favorite
-Share any memories you had while here.
-Also if you are one of the families that lived in the house before it was a tearoom.

This is a big project. I'm doing this on my own. This is for me and the people that worked here all those years. Because we poured our heart and soul into this place.

I plan on selling this cookbook at Hometown Furniture Company and hopefully online as well. No Pre-Orders, this is not something I am doing for financial gains.

And if you have not been into Hometown we have a new fancy entrance door and our GM Mindy is amazing!!

Also we have a BRAND NEW WEBSITE lauching next week!!

UPDATE: Nothing New to report. But we thought we would post since it has been awhile.

We are staying closed until Covid restrictions are 100% gone.
We lost our general manager to another job during shutdown. And I'm still training my new warehouse manager for Hometown Furniture. And I'm training a new Hometown Furniture General Manager.
Also food costs are still up. So we would have to raise our prices about 30% or more.
And we do not want to risk getting Covid. We are a small business and adding 40 people extra per day walking through Hometown is not good for transmission of the virus. My father is 78 years old and working full time to help get Hometown running again. And we have employees here with immune compromised children.
We hope to reopen in the future. But it's not going to be anytime soon. There are just too many logistical hurdles to clear.

Just got news that Rogersville did not copy the Springfield Ordinance! Good news. But we are still needing to social distance. With that we still can only have 5 tables. We will start working on a plan and let you guys know as soon as we get one.

And just for full transparency. This is a huge task to reopen. We lost our General Manger/Head Cook. She got an amazing opportunity with a new job. WE HAVE FIRED NO ONE!!. And everyone that had a job will be offered their old job back. But we have a huge hill to climb. Currently we still are understaffed at Hometown Furniture Company. And we are busier than ever. So we need time to think of plan. I just received this information 5 minutes before typing this. You are the very first to know this.

But if I could ask. Please stop spreading rumors. I had an employee of the Tearoom text me today asking if she was fired. Because "that's what the rumor mill of Rogersville is saying." Before you spread false information reach out to me. My name is David Henry and I am usually the tall guy running around Hometown Furniture.

We are doing everything in our power to get back to a new normal. But reopening is much bigger of a task than it sounds. I lost thousands of dollars of food that will have to be replaced. We need to figure out the best way to reopen. But I have so many new ideas! And most of these ideas came to me last night when I couldn't get to sleep. So nobody has heard them yet.

But remember. If you didn't hear the news about the Tearoom from this page. Or from My Father Larry and I. Then stop spreading negative. The world has enough negative right now. And I think you are going to LOVE LOVE LOVE all the changes that we have!! But we need some time!!

We are still in a waiting pattern for reopening. We have to first wait until we can 100% occupy the seating area. Then we must train a new staff. We are hoping an announcement will come soon on the next phase. But we are just waiting. Hometown Furniture Company is fully open and back to a new type of normal. We are hoping to see you guys very soon. But time will tell.

UPDATE: We will not be opening back up Monday May 4th. Most likely it will be the first week of June when the restrictions are less.

But we want to take this time to thank our General Manger Lisa Dickson. She was offered another opportunity during this pandemic. And she will not be returning. She has an awesome new life adventure and we are excited for her.

She did more than run our Tea Room. She kept the whole staff of Hometown together in stressful times. She was the central force we all looked up to. She has so much good to offer to this world and we're excited others will benefit.

Right now we don't know the exact first step. We will focus on opening Hometown Furniture Company first. Then once we get our feet back we'll tackle reopening the tea room. We also lost our entire warehouse and delivery team for Hometown.

I'm working hard to find a good fit and I have some great leads. But if you know someone we are always willing to see if you want to join our family.

We will be back. We will be stronger!
