We love you, Rome.
To all the firefighters and first responders who fought to save our downtown, THANK YOU and your coffee is on us for the rest of the week. 🤍
“It’s hard to put into words the heartbreak of seeing the Floyd County Historic courthouse lost to such a devastating fire. That courthouse wasn’t just a landmark. It held the stories of our past, the echoes of generations, and a piece of all of us who call Rome home. It stood as a quiet witness to history, and its loss feels deeply personal.” —
In the scope of history witnessed by the courthouse, Swift & Finch is a new kid on the block. But, maybe that’s part of what feels so personal about this loss. The view of the courthouse through the window at Swift & Finch reminds us that we are all a part of the story of this town. This really is what makes Rome so beautiful. Old is held together with new within the blocks of this downtown, and so we stay rooted in where we came from. The loss of part of our history is jarring and uprooting.
We chose to renovate an old building downtown, because we believe in the importance of protecting the historical integrity of this city, both through its architecture and its people. There was much that came before us in this town, and we all hold responsibly to continue writing the story of this place with deep awareness, care, and love.
We are lucky to be bound together between the rivers and the mountains in this special home. We’re deeply proud of this place and to get to serve coffee to our people 🤍
Thank you for these photos and
