JOB OPENING

Julia's Local is immediately hiring for the position of HOST, a newly-created role at the restaurant.

As our host, you will welcome all of our guests at the front door, guide them through the bar and/or dining rooms, take their coats, seat them, and get everyone settled in for their special evening. Intimate in nature and design, our restaurant feels like being in our own home, so be prepared to know ~ and adore ~ our regulars pretty quickly!

Our host will also support our bar, dining room, and kitchen teams in assisting in delivering and clearing glasses and dishes, in order to keep the tables neat and tidy throughout dinner.

Our host is also responsible for our nightly playlist ~ and here we only spin vinyl.

Hours: Wednesday through Saturday, 4:30pm arrival time (doors open 5pm) until about 9pm.

Julia’s Local in Round Top ~ located near Cairo and Catskill in northern Greene County ~ is excited to announce a series of on-going year-round Sunday afternoon cooking classes. The first two classes will be exactly the same: KNIFE SKILLS.

Sunday, October 13 & Sunday, October 20

Learn the essentials of knife skills in this comprehensive class, led by Chef Henning Nordanger with hands-on demonstrations.

Get expert knowledge on how to choose, store, hold, and use the most important tool in your kitchen. Mainly focusing on vegetables, discover the most essential techniques to slice, dice, chop, mince, brunoise, bâtonnet, and julienne both efficiently and safely.

We’ll have knives available, but bring as many as you wish from your own home kitchen (so you can learn best practices with your own favorite knives). Chef Henning will also share how-to instructions for sharpening them.

Class duration is approximately 2-3 hours. Space is limited to only 10 people per class. $75 per person.

Welcome to Julia's Local. After four years of DIY building renovation ~ and establishing our one-acre culinary garden ~ our sweet little restaurant on Heart's Content Road in beautiful Round Top is now open. Chef Henning Nordanger and I look forward to hosting you.
