Our first Feature Farmacy Friday is here!

As we celebrate our 12th year of Farmacy this season we will be highlighting each week some of our community partners, supporters and volunteers that make this program thrive and bring Food as Medicine to our community 🥰

Up first.... a shout out to Spring Lake Ranch Therapeutic Community for their contribution this week of homegrown rhubarb! Every year the ranch has donated extra veggies and eggs from their own gardens to help support Farmacy and supported us in past years with their annual 5k Ramp-it-up run! We love collaborating with them whenever we can.

We had a great first share this week and we look forward to the next 14 weeks of locally grown produce that will be coming through our doors for this wonderful program -

As our green building expansion continues, we're getting ready for even more capacity to strengthen services and better support our region's farmers, producers, and local food system!✨💪

Cross-Docking – We help connect local producers with wholesale buyers by efficiently receiving, and redistributing products, making it easier to get fresh Vermont-grown food where it's needed.

Cold & Dry Storage – Need space to keep your products fresh? We offer storage solutions that help farms and food businesses extend their reach and better manage inventory.

Commercial Kitchen – Our commercial kitchen provides a professional space for entrepreneurs, farmers, and food makers to create value-added products, expand their businesses, and bring new ideas to market.

Behind every construction project is a vision, and this summer, that vision is taking shape. This photo captures members of our VFFC team and project partners walking through the future home of the expanded West Wing of Farmers Hall, where exciting changes are underway.

As part of our campus expansion, this space will become a hub for local food aggregation, cold and dry storage, cross-docking, and expanded commercial kitchen capacity. These improvements will strengthen our ability to connect Vermont farmers with schools, hospitals, food access programs, retailers, and communities across the region.

Every part of this expansion and renovation represents an investment in a stronger local food system—one that supports farmers, increases food access, and builds resilience for years to come.

If you want to keep up with the progress behind-the-scenes you can sign up for more in depth email updates at vermontfarmersfoodcenter.org/vffc_renovation_project_community_updates

We're grateful to everyone helping bring this vision to life and look forward to sharing more progress as construction continues. Stay tuned—there's much more to come! 🌱🚜
