Not really sure where to start. Yesterday was the definition of bitter sweet. We poured our heart and soul into this. It wasn’t “broke”, but we decided to part ways. Ultimatley we chose to clear a path to what’s most important to us.
We sold the food truck. It’s paid in full and has been delivered to the new owners. There’s no shortage of emotions. Happy, sad, confused, nostalgic, optimistic, concerned, etc. We built that wagon with a village of amazing friends and family. We cut no corners and spared no expense. We had the most amazing customers and support system. We survived covid. Who can ask for more? We had it all. On paper.
Then we added some names to the paper. Agnes and Lucius. The balance has shifted. The priorities changed. Why wouldnt they? These kids are perfect and we have been given the chance to be awesome parents to these beautiful kids. We have and will continue to rise to that opportunity. Ask any parent, money matters too. So let’s just say with the sale of this food truck we took care of some s**t. Those are the pathways we cleared. Time and finances are more in check than ever and that was the new goal.
We will miss our baby. Janice and I got married in ‘17. We started the biz in spring of ‘18. So it’s been with us pretty much our whole time together. With the truck gone it will actually give us a chance to be together more too. And we need to be happy and healthy to paint that cohesive loving picture for the kiddos. Plus if you haven’t hung out with Janice, shes pretty fun to be around. Me? Well the jury’s still out.
We will miss it being the excuse to catch up with friends and family we don’t see often and serve up some yummy food but now we can be on the other side of these opportunities and hang out for real. Damn. The end of an era. We had some stress, but we had a lot of good times. The clocks don’t stop, and change is inevitable. So we remember the good and move on to the next chapters. Thank you all for seeing and supporting our vision. It really was magical. Not a bad run for a kid with a GED and an immigrant. Cheers all! Let’s hang soon! 🍻
