Despite best efforts, we could not reach an agreement with the City. Saturday will be our last night and we proudly hang our hats after 30 years. We want to personally thank you not only for the lifetime of memories but the unremarkable passion shown for Rio over the decades. We are forever grateful. Cheers! ♥️

Wow we can’t thank everyone enough for the outpouring of love surrounding our announcement of permanently closing yesterday. We are so grateful to the community and for all the support we have received. While we still remain unsure of our future, there may be hope…. Stay tuned.

The iconic Rio City Cafe in Old Sacramento restaurant recently announced it was permanently closing, and now the mayor said he is willing to help keep it open.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce that Rio City Cafe will be permanently closing our doors.

Our last day of service will be Saturday, August 3, 2024. We will be open during our normal business hours for both brunch and dinner that day.

This was in no way an easy decision, but due to multiple factors, sadly, we realize it is time to say our goodbyes.

We would just like to thank ALL our guests for allowing us to be part of your lives over these last 30 years. The love and memories that have been created serving our food and drinks here along the river are truly unforgettable!

An extra special thank you to our loyal staff, both past and present, who have been a part of this incredible journey with us. Thank you for years of dedication, support, and friendship turned into family!

We encourage you to visit us in these last weeks.

Thank you, Sacramento! We will miss you!
