💕 Hospice Foster Home Needed: Meet Alba 💕

Alba isn't looking for forever.

She's looking for comfort, kindness, and a soft place to rest.

This sweet senior girl was found as a stray, and while we'll never know exactly what her life looked like before arriving at the shelter, we know she deserves better than spending her final days here.

At just 35 pounds, Alba is currently working on gaining weight and strength. She has multiple mammary tumors, and due to her age and condition, surgery is not considered a safe option. Even if surgery were possible, it is likely that Alba is battling cancer that will need to be managed rather than cured.

What Alba needs now isn't more procedures or more time in a kennel.

She needs a home.

A warm bed. Gentle hands. A family willing to love her for however much time she has left.

Despite everything she's been through, Alba remains incredibly sweet. She can be a little timid when meeting new people, but with patience and kindness, she blossoms into a loving companion. She enjoys treats, knows how to sit, and takes snacks with the gentlest mouth. She's also done well meeting other dogs when given time to warm up and settle in.

We don't know how much time Alba has left. It could be months, it could be longer. What we do know is that every dog deserves love, dignity, and comfort at the end of their journey.

Our Dog Day Out program lets you take one of our shelter dogs on an adventure for a few hours. Grab a pup cup, stroll through the park, run errands, explore Saginaw, or simply enjoy some sunshine together.

🐾 No long-term commitment
🐾 We provide the dog, leash, and supplies
🐾 You provide the fun
🐾 Take photos and help a shelter dog get noticed

A few hours outside the shelter can make a huge difference for these dogs. Plus, you'll have a pretty awesome adventure buddy by your side.

It's a beautiful June day, and our cat adoption room is just as bright and full of life!

We've welcomed lots of new faces recently, and right now we have cats of every age, color, and personality imaginable. From tiny kittens full of zoomies and mischief to mellow adult lap cats who just want a sunny spot and a cuddle, there's truly a kitty for every household.

Meet Daffodil 🌼

Tiny? Yes. Adorable? Obviously. Already working on becoming someone’s full-time shadow? Also yes.

Daffodil is only around 3 months old and she is the sweetest little Velcro dog in the making. She loves attention, wants to be close, and is just waiting for someone to scoop her up and show her that the world is not so scary.

She’s a little nervous here at the shelter, but she’s also just a baby. A loud shelter is no place for a tiny girl like this to grow up, and we would love to see her get out of here ASAP.

Come meet Daffodil and let this little flower bloom in a home of her own. 🌼
