Just a reminder- Walk With a Doc is cancelled tonight due to poor air quality.

Due to poor air quality, this week's Walk With a Doc has been cancelled to help protect the health and safety of our participants.

We look forward to seeing everyone next Thursday for our next walk!

In the meantime, consider limiting prolonged outdoor activity, especially if you have asthma, heart disease, or other respiratory conditions.

🌫️ Air Quality Alert for Michigan 🌫️

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has issued a Statewide Air Quality Alert for July 16–17 due to wildfire smoke. Air quality may reach Very Unhealthy to Hazardous levels in some areas. Combined with high temperatures, these conditions can pose serious health risks.

Help Protect Yourself & Your Family:

🏠 Stay indoors as much as possible and keep windows and doors closed.
πŸ’¨ If you have air conditioning, use the recirculate setting.
πŸƒ Avoid outdoor exercise and move activities indoors when possible.
😷 If you must be outside, consider wearing a properly fitted NIOSH-approved N95 or P100 respirator.
πŸ”₯ Avoid activities that worsen indoor air quality, such as burning candles, smoking, or excessive use of gas stoves.
πŸ₯΅ If your home becomes too hot without air conditioning, seek relief at a cooling center or another air-conditioned public location.

Our building will be closed Thursday, July 23rd, while Consumers Energy completes a scheduled transformer replacement.
