We are so excited to announce plans for The Buttery to hopefully move into the Cosmic space. I couldn’t think of a better fit for the neighborhood (or better people to make this happen!) and am so stoked about this development.

From The Buttery:

OMG! We’ve been working on a new project that we’re so excited to share with you and, with some hard work and support, open in downtown St. J by June 2024. We are seeking your help to bring The Buttery: Kitchen + Pantry to the old Cosmic Cup space on Railroad Street.

The Buttery is Haven’s kid sister. It will be a walkable, neighborhood market, & all-day cafe in St. J. It will carry a selection of kitchen and dining wares currently found at Haven; locally and/or sustainably sourced pantry goods, coffees, cheeses, cured meats, pickles & preserves; *NaTuRaL WiNeS* with an emphasis on local producers; and– much to our (and we hope your) delight– an espresso & natural wine bar.

In January, Cosmic Cup Cafe closed its doors. We want to help alleviate the debt they hold from their commercial kitchen buildout, keep Liv’s bagels in town, and refill a vital community space. We have signed a provisional lease contingent upon us acquiring the capital required to open our doors. Our initial goal is $25,000. We’ve fully outlined how the funds will be used in our Kickstarter campaign (linked in all of our bios).

We are inspired by nearby businesses like and and farther off places like and . The space will be a vessel for the community events in and outside of its regular hours (7AM-7PM, 6 days/wk). If you know anything about Haven, you know we love a good collab so, expect guest coffee cuppings from roasters we love, wine tastings by nearby producers, industry nights, and pop-up supper clubs. There are super cute and tasty rewards for each donation tier so be sure to check those out! AND FUN FACT! If everyone that follows Haven donated $25, we would more than double our stretch goal. Please help us make this dream for our town a reality!
