the art of slowing down 👁️

What if one of the best things you do for yourself today takes just 15 minutes?

New research from the ASBA Project suggests that a 15-minute mindfulness practice in a museum may help reduce anxiety and improve overall wellbeing.

So wander slowly. Stay curious. Spend a little more time with the art—and yourself. Your art break starts here. ✨🖼️

the right to imagination ✨

Salvador Dalí believed imagination shouldn't answer to rules. When his vision for the 1939 World's Fair was challenged, he refused to compromise. Instead, he resigned from the project and published his "Declaration of the Independence of the Imagination and the Rights of Man to His Own Madness"—a bold manifesto defending creative freedom.

Explore the declaration and the fascinating story behind it in our special exhibition, "Dalí in America"—now on view for a limited-time.

summers by the sea with dalí 🌊

Every summer has a place that stays with us. For Salvador Dalí, it was Port Lligat.

Overlooking the Mediterranean, Dalí transformed a cluster of humble fishermen's huts into the home and studio where he spent much of his life with Gala. Here, he painted, welcomed friends and found endless inspiration in the ever-changing light, sea and landscape.

This summer, take a moment to notice the places that inspire you. You never know what they might become. 👁️ 🎨

the art of absence 🖼️

Sometimes what isn’t shown can be just as meaningful as what is. In “Suez,” Dalí uses space & scale to challenge our expectations, inviting us to look beyond what’s visible. By challenging what we expect to see, he leaves room for curiosity, imagination & personal interpretation.

from artist to icon ⭐

On Dec 14, 1936, Salvador Dalí appeared on the cover of TIME magazine. The cover introduced Dalí—and Surrealism itself—to a wider audience, transforming him from a celebrated artist into an international celebrity.

This was the start of Dalí’s rise to fame, a journey that continued during his years in the U.S., where he cultivated the larger-than-life persona that made him a global icon.

See this historic cover on view in our limited-time exhibition ‘Dalí in America’ and discover how America helped shape the legend of Dalí.
