Charlie and Karen Morris who have ties to western Kansas and Colorado often passed through Salina on their way to visit relatives. One day, they decided to take a little extra time to explore downtown—and we’re so glad they did!

One of their first stops was 1858 Coffee House, where they enjoyed a great cup of coffee and soaked in the welcoming atmosphere. From there, they popped into our SalinaHomes office and struck up a conversation with Mike Payne,. Mike shared his love for Salina, its history, and everything that makes our community special.

He stayed in touch after that first meeting, and not long after, they were back—this time ready to find a home. 🏡 Today, we’re thrilled to celebrate their closing and welcome them as official Salina residents!

This is exactly why we wanted 1858 to be our front door: a space to welcome new faces and share all the things that make Salina a great place to call home. ❤️

Our summertime only LOTUS COLADA is here! The most yummy and refreshing drink! It is used with lotus energy which is a plant based energy. It won’t leave you crashing which is awesome for these hot summer days ahead!
