Autumn is here!!! And with her comes all the tastes and flavour we love! As is our custom, we will be featuring chai spices and that quintessential fruit—the apple.
🍁Our classic Artisan Sourdough is the backbone of our bakery and a wonderfully simple loaf with a moist, chewy crumb and a golden-brown crunchy crust. Just like sourdough should be!
Available in both whole and minis.
🍂On the savoury side this week is our sourdough roasted garlic rosemary loaf. The nuttiness of roasted garlic blends so well with the woodsiness of rosemary. We love rosemary any way! Both whole and minis will be available this week.
🍁Based on feedback from our official taste testers, plain polarbrot (flatbreads from Scandinavia) supersede the flavoured ones we offered a few weeks ago, so we will be back to market with no frills flatbreads. These work well for breakfast or lunchboxes with jams and nutbutters or avocado and greens. The options are endless.
🍎For sweeties this week we are spotlighting sourdough apple fritters. Rest assured, these are not your gf version of dunk'in! In keeping with our bakery's ethos, our fritters are made with coconut sugar, blended with gf flours and sourdough, baked not
fried, and glazed with coconut butter (manna) and maple syrup.
We hope you can taste the love and respect for your belly we have baked into these yummies!
🍌We've put a twist on our simple banana muffin by adding loose chai tea + spices. So easy just to pop these in the lunchbox and pairs so well with a hot cuppa chai or our warming berry tea below.
🍂Our very own graham crackers are made with our own blend of flours and are shelf stable so unlike most of our bakes, you can enjoy these for weeks. Lunches, snacking, dippers...you name it!
🍫Also back on the menu is our chocolate dessert hummus which pairs nicely with fresh fruit (like apples!) and our hand crafted Graham crackers. After school snacks never tasted so good!
🍁Speaking of ‘hand crafted’-beginning this week, we will be rolling out our hand crafted marshmallows! We‘ve gotten so into this marshmallow making endeavour that we’re going to feature a different marshmallow flavour each week in September. This week we begin our marshmallowy adventure with the classic marshmallow-no high fructose corn syrups or refined sugars here! We use grass fed gelatin and organic honey for sweetness.
🍂For the month of September we will also be featuring chai-spiced granola. We’ve mixed our own personal blend of spices for this signature chai which will be highlighted throughout the month. In addition to everything in our classic granola, this contains light flax seeds, h**p seeds and of course chai spice. Still made with gf sprouted oats and contains almonds.
🫖 This warming berry tea is amazing, not just in taste, but in its properties. Drank hot, it reminds one of a lemon tea that is so soothing when under the weather, but drank cold (or even cooled in your cuppa) some very spicy undertones come to the forefront! We thought it would make an excellent “transition tea“ as we have days where both an iced or warm tea would be appreciated.
The days are getting shorter and certainly busier with new school schedules and extracurricular activities. We get that so we have tried to create a menu that supports you in convenience and your family’s health. Please make supporting your local farmers a continued priority. We need you!
Can’t wait to see you at market this Monday Sept 8!
