The Cat Cafe

The Cat Cafe Southern California's FIRST cat cafe, located in America's Finest city Cat cafes started in Taiwan, and spread to Japan, where they're very popular.

There are over 100 cat cafes in Japan. Since then, they've spread throughout the world. We were inspired by one of the first cat cafes in Europe, Le Cafe des Chats, in Paris. They had waits of two to three months for people to get a reservation. Since opening in January 2015, The Cat Cafe has sent hundreds of cats to good homes. Originally partnering with San Diego Humane Society, we've partnered

with The Rescue House since February 2017. In addition to adopting out animals, we seek to highlight other San Diego businesses. That's why we feature coffee and espresso from Cafe Virtuoso, pastries from Bread & Cie, cookies from The Cravory and sandwiches and snacks from Sunshine and Orange.

Ever have a cat who loved being with you so much that they peed on you? That's what happened with this rescue cat. But, this cat had serious separation anxiety after being abandoned. That caused him to naturally mark the things he cared about the most.

After a while, he stopped doing this because he knew he wasn't going to be abandoned again.
