🧡🌼 Meet Rancho Coyote Viejo, a demonstration farm in Paicines, San Benito County, where we're now sourcing our marigolds !
More than a growing space, Rancho Coyote Viejo is a hands-on learning environment where farmers can explore new practices, experiment with crops, share knowledge, and build skills together. It's part of the work of , an organization dedicated to strengthening networks and creating opportunities for Latine farmers, food workers, and agricultural professionals.
Our connection to the farm is through Josefina, Regeneration's founder and executive director, whose work helps local farms navigate the challenges of getting their products to market. We're grateful for the opportunity to support her work and build a new relationship with the people growing these beautiful blooms.
The timing feels especially meaningful as we celebrate Día de los Mu***os. Known as cempasúchil, marigolds are an important part of this tradition. Their vibrant orange petals and distinct fragrance are believed to guide the spirits of loved ones back home, creating a welcoming path to family altars and graves.
This Día de los Mu***os, we're celebrating the flowers, the growers, and the traditions that connect us. 🧡
