Why “Acre”? 🤔
Part of the name comes from my last name, Whitaker. Born and raised in the UK, that name traces back to Old English: hwīt (“white”) and æcer (“field” or “plot of cultivated land”).”
An acre historically described the amount of land a person could work in a day. It carries this idea of honest effort and tending what’s in front of you, and the quiet satisfaction that comes from a day well spent.
That idea stuck with me, and the desire to cultivate something worthwhile.
Acre Coffee is that plot. Good drinks, good company, good conversation. All made carefully, and found in places where people gather.
We hope to serve you, here at home on California’s beautiful Central Coast, sometime soon in the future!
