One-way valves on coffee bags. I have also been testing this. I'm coming to the conclusion that for coffee that's not sitting on the shelf for months, you really don't need them.

Using a thicker walled cup will help retain the heat of the coffee longer. My favorite are the thick diner-style mugs. Super thick and have a classic style.

To make your hot cup of coffee stay hot longer try pre-warming your cup. Simply add hot water in the cup while brewing and empty it right before filling it with coffee. Easy way to enjoy your hot coffee longer.

Most people don't have scales around so a good rule of thumb for making a great cup of coffee is to use 2 tbls of coffee for every 8 oz of water. 16 oz cup use 4 tbsp of coffee, 24oz cup use 8 tbsp of coffee, etc.. Use this as a guidline and make adjustments as needed.

Ideally you want to buy beans that have been roasted within the last 3 weeks. Commercial coffee can sit on the shelf for months even up to a year. We roast our coffee to order so you will always have your coffee fresh.

Pre-ground beans are convienant, but you're missing out on flavor. As soon as beans are ground the flavor starts to diminish. The longer you wait from the time you grind to brew, the more flavor will be lost.

Many lower cost drip brewers never reach the ideal water temperature to extract the most flavor from the beans which is 195 to 205 degrees. Try using the Pour-Over method or a French Press to get the best flavor out of your coffee.
