Dear Pearl East Customers and Friends,
Hello to our beloved customers and friends in the Santa Maria community. As many of you know, Pearl East has been closed for scheduled maintenance and renovation work over the past six months. We want to take a moment to share a clear update on our current situation with all of you who have been patiently awaiting our reopening.
Pearl East officially closed on January 2, 2025, in accordance with an agreement with the landlord to begin maintenance and renovation work. At that time, we posted a notice on our front door stating that we anticipated reopening on February 4, 2025, based on the timeline provided and confirmed by the property management company overseeing the project on behalf of the landlord.
As we shared with many of you, we were ready and excited to reopen in early February. However, we received no updates from the landlord’s management team. After following up, we were informed that the work had been delayed and that we could expect a reopening in March.
By March, there were still no updates. After requesting a meeting with the property management company, we learned that an accident had occurred early in the construction process, causing further delays. We were then told to anticipate a reopening in early June 2025.
It is now June 17, 2025, and unfortunately, we still have not received any new updates. Like all of you, we are continuing to wait patiently and hopefully.
We are a small, family-run restaurant that has proudly served the Santa Maria community for decades. We’ve seen generations of customers. Many of you visited Pearl East as children and now bring your own families. We deeply cherish that bond and are honored to continue sharing our food and hospitality with you.
With our food and your unwavering support, Pearl East made it through the difficult days of COVID. We take great pride in serving our community, and this unexpected delay has truly tested both our patience and strength.
We still remain hopeful and determined. Behind the scenes, we are doing everything we can to reopen as soon as possible. While we don’t want to set false expectations, we promise to keep you updated the moment we receive any new information. At this point, we’re right there with you, waiting for the green light to move forward.
That said, we want to sincerely thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the kind messages, thoughtful check-ins, and continued words of support—whether in person, through texts, or even during chance encounters at Costco or elsewhere. Your care and kindness truly mean the world to us and have helped us stay hopeful and believe in better days ahead.
