Fresh from Roots & Rise Bakehouse

Fresh sourdough has finally arrived at The Cattleman's Pantry, a little late but better late than never!!

This week's delivery includes beautiful handcrafted sourdough bread and a variety of sourdough cookies, all baked fresh and delivered right to our shelves.

And if you're looking for a little inspiration, one of our favorite combinations is a warm slice of sourdough topped with butter and a spoonful of Aunt Kimmies Jams, Jellies & Relishes". Simple, local, and absolutely delicious.

🌾 A Little Update on Today's Sourdough 🌾

One of the things that makes true sourdough special is that it doesn't work on our schedule—it works on nature's.

With the cooler temperatures we've been having, the natural fermentation process has slowed down, and Alexis at Roots & Rise Bakehouse is giving the dough the extra time it needs to rise properly. Good bread can't be rushed, and she'd rather wait for it to be right than send out a loaf that doesn't meet her standards.

That's the beauty (and sometimes the challenge) of handcrafted sourdough. Every loaf is influenced by the weather, the temperature, the starter, and time itself.

So while our sourdough delivery has been delayed, we promise it's for a good reason. ❤️

As soon as the bread is ready and arrives at The Cattleman's Pantry, we'll let everyone know—whether that's later today or tomorrow.

Thank you for supporting local bakers who still do things the old-fashioned way: with patience, care, and quality in mind.

Every Farm Has a Boss... 🐔
Some people think it's the farmer.
Some people think it's the cows.
But anyone who has spent time around chickens knows the real boss of the farm is usually a hen with an attitude. 😂
