The world’s largest operating steam locomotive, Union Pacific Big Boy No. 4014, is making a stop at Steamtown National Historic Site, and we can’t wait to welcome all the train fans, families, and visitors coming to town!

• Big Boy No. 4014 is the largest operating steam locomotive in the world.
• It weighs over 1.2 million pounds.
• The locomotive is 132 feet long.
• It was built in 1941 to haul heavy freight through the mountains of Wyoming and Utah.
• Only 25 Big Boy locomotives were ever built.
• No. 4014 was restored to operating condition in 2019 after decades on display.
