I'll admit...I don't know how to run a government organization, how to budget for projects 10-15 years in the making, or how to rally for votes. But, I do know that Ballard feels like an isolated part of Seattle and we have trouble finding employees who want to commute because the bus lines usually take 1+ hours to get there from downtown, Capitol Hill or other neighborhoods. I do believe that access to neighborhoods like Ballard from other areas can help workers save time, money and access jobs they couldn't otherwise. I'm sure there are a million other considerations that go into projects like this but it's disappointing to see the result of this vote.
