No, it’s not cold foam
No, it’s not whipped cream
We make our sea salt maple cream top in-house using organic whipping cream and our top-secret whipping method so you get a creamy, BARELY sweet texture with your fav cold drink.

You guys love it on lattes, and I love it on our Nitro Cold Brew ☕️

Don’t look away. It’s rude to ignore art. 😉

I wanted our packaging to look as clean and intentional as Essence specialty coffee tastes. What screams ethically sourced, small batch roasted by hand, excellent quality, but still fun on a shelf? It took a lot of testing and a lot of coffee to design these bags, and we’re pretty obsessed with the final look.

Swing by this week, do a double-take, and take a bag home. It’s like art on your counter. Plus there’s an Easter egg on the bag, too 🤎

I know. 😭 You find a coffee you love, and then suddenly it disappears. How annoying!

BUT! There’s a lot that goes into deciding what I bring into the roastery.

Coffee is an agricultural product. Harvests change. Availability changes. Prices change. Natural disasters happen. And sometimes I REALLY want to bring in a brand new coffee simply because it’s the right coffee for Essence this year.

Could I buy a huge amount and keep it around indefinitely? Technically.

But that’s not how I want to approach specialty coffee.
I’d rather keep sourcing coffees we’re genuinely excited about, roast them well, and let them change with the seasons than hold onto old inventory just because it’s familiar.

And yes… sometimes that means saying goodbye to your favorite. 🥲 But hopefully it also means there’s always something new worth falling in love with. (Like my new Yellow Honey Process from Costa Rica! It’s ready for pour overs in the coffee shop and you’re making it fly off the shelf already💛😍)

On Wednesdays, come enjoy a coffee and a change of scenery while you work on school 📒 @ Essence. This has been such a huge part of our journey, and we still sit here with our lessons and books and enjoy our drinks many years in!

I’m sure most people would have a well thought-out plan to launch new… anything. Apparently not me 🙋🏻‍♀️

In this business I’m learning that everything takes 4x longer than planned, might be slightly off (or hilariously off like my World’s Smallest Spoons last week!😂)and I’m the figure-it-out person. I get excited about new coffee, testing new gear or products, and I’d rather get it on my shelf for you and figure out my new labels as I go. Priorities.

This one is really special, from a third generation coffee producer husband and wife. We’ll talk more. But I think we’re going to be loving this one. Come by the coffee shop, I’ve tucked a few on our shelf🤎

Save this to make your Essence@Home coffee routine even easier!

It looks like a standard pour-over, but this is the Clever Dripper! and it might just be the most foolproof coffee maker ever designed. No worrying about whether you poured it properly, and it costs about 30 bucks 🙌🏻

Here is the magic:
1️⃣ Full Immersion: Unlike a regular pour-over where water just flows through, the Clever has a special valve at the bottom that stays shut. Your coffee grounds and hot water steep together perfectly, similar to a French press.
2️⃣ The Valve Release: When the timer hits 2 to 3 minutes, you simply place the dripper right on top of your favorite mug! 🪄
3️⃣ Instant Filtration: The weight of the mug automatically pushes the valve open. The coffee drains straight through the paper filter

The Result? You get the deep, rich body of a French press, but the ultra-clean, crisp cup of a pour-over. No special technique required, and only takes a few minutes.

• Coffee: 22~g (Medium-coarse grind) we are currently LOVING our Ethiopia for this 🤎
•Water 350g
• Steep time: 2.5 minutes, then pop on mug to drain!
