Did you know that pansit is traditionally served during birthdays and special celebrations because the long noodles are believed to symbolize long life and good health? 🍜

That is also why many Filipino families try not to cut the noodles too short when preparing the dish—the longer the noodles, the better the symbolism!

There are many different kinds of pansit throughout the Philippines, and each family often has its own special version. This Saturday, Lala’s Kitchen will be serving Pansit Bihon made with rice noodles, cabbage, sugar snap peas, carrots, mushrooms, onions, garlic and savory seasonings.

A delicious dish filled with tradition, comfort and a little wish for a long, happy life! 💛

I also want to take a moment to publicly thank Nathan and Rachel, the wonderful organizers of the Severance Farmers Market.

A couple of weeks ago, I experienced heat exhaustion while working in the afternoon sun. I reached out to them to ask if there was any possibility of moving Lala's Kitchen to a shadier location.

Not only did they listen, they made it happen.

Today, we were blessed with a beautiful shady spot, and it made such a difference for me, our team, and our customers.

Acts of kindness like this don't always get recognized, but they should.

Nathan and Rachel, thank you for caring so much about your vendors. Your willingness to help speaks volumes about the kind of community you're building through the Severance Farmers Market.

❤️🇵🇭 Another Beautiful Saturday at the Severance Farmers Market… and once again, our hearts are so full! 🇵🇭❤️

What an incredible community you all are.

Every Saturday, our Lala’s Kitchen family wakes up excited—not just because we get to cook and serve Filipino food—but because we get to see you.

As we’re setting up our booth, we always find ourselves wondering…

“Who’s coming to visit us today?” 😊

Will we see our regulars? Will someone bring a friend who’s never experienced Filipino food before? Will a family stop by to share a meal together?

Those are the moments we look forward to every single week.

We genuinely treasure every conversation, every laugh, every familiar face, and every opportunity to get to know you a little better. By the end of the market, it never feels like we’ve simply served customers…

It feels like we’ve broken bread with friends. ❤️

In Filipino culture, food has always been about more than what’s on the plate. It’s about gathering, sharing stories, laughing together, and making people feel welcome.

Watching so many of you try these dishes for the very first time—and seeing your smiles after that first bite—was such a blessing.

Our Ube Cheesecake Ice Cream made its debut, and the love you showed it absolutely made our day! Seeing so many of you enjoy this new creation made all the recipe testing and late-night experimenting worth it.

One of my favorite parts of today was taking pictures with many of our regulars. Looking back through those photos reminds me that Lala’s Kitchen has become so much more than a food booth.

It’s become a place where friendships are growing, conversations are shared, and memories are being made.

Thank you for welcoming our family, our Filipino heritage, and our cooking into your Saturday traditions.

It is a privilege we never take for granted.

❤️🇵🇭 THE MYSTERY IS OVER... AND WE CAN'T WAIT TO SHARE THESE WITH YOU! 🇵🇭❤️

First, thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and guessed our mystery dishes! We had such a great time reading your comments, and your excitement made us smile all day.

As much fun as the riddles were, I've been thinking about it...

I realized I'd rather introduce these dishes the way I cook—with honesty, heart, and love.

So here they are!

🥥 Ginataang Manok
Tender chicken slowly simmered in a creamy coconut sauce with butternut squash and spinach. At Lala's Kitchen, I begin by sautéing fresh onions, garlic, and lots of ginger in coconut oil, then blend those aromatics so every spoonful is infused with their comforting flavor without the chunks. It's one of my favorite ways to share the warmth of Filipino home cooking.

🍆 Tortang Talong with Ground Beef
Fire-roasted Japanese eggplant, wrapped in egg and topped with a savory ground beef mixture. Smoky, hearty, and full of flavor, it's a Filipino comfort food that I can't wait for you to try.

💜 Lala's Purple Halo
Our Ube Cheesecake on Oreo Cookie Crust has been transformed into a rich, creamy ice cream with pieces of our homemade cheesecake folded right in. It's cool, dreamy, and made for a hot Colorado summer.

These aren't just new menu items.

They are recipes inspired by my Filipino heritage, my family, and my love for cooking.

I can't wait to share them with you this Saturday.

❤️🇵🇭 Another Wonderful Day at the Severance Farmers Market! 🇵🇭❤️

What a beautiful day it was for Lala’s Kitchen! Even with temperatures climbing to 96°F, the incredible support from our Northern Colorado community never slowed down. We had a steady stream of both new customers discovering Filipino cuisine for the first time and many familiar faces returning for their favorites. Seeing so many of you come back week after week truly means the world to us.

Today’s biggest star was our Filipino Adobo served with Lala’s famous Garlic Fried Rice. It was wonderful watching so many people enjoy one of the Philippines’ most beloved comfort foods. ❤️

Our Cantaloupe Cooler was the perfect drink for such a hot day—and it was such a hit that we sold out by noon! ☀️🍈

By the end of the market, we had also completely sold out of:

✨ Pancit Canton
✨ BBQ Chicken Skewers

To every person who stopped by our booth, shared kind words, recommended us to friends, or chose to support our small family business—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. In the Philippines, adobo is more than a dish — it is a family signature. Almost every Filipino family has their own way of making it. In our family, adobo is cooked in layers: first marinated, then simmered until tender, then drained and fried, and finally returned to the sauce to soak up even more flavor. That extra love is what gives our adobo its deep, savory, garlicky, tangy Filipino flavor. ❤️🇵🇭

❤️🇵🇭 Another Beautiful Day at the Severance Farmers Market 🇵🇭❤️

My heart is so full as I reflect on today’s market. We had a steady stream of customers, and the weather was amazing! It was overcast with a gentle breeze that helped cool me down while grilling and deep-frying. That breeze felt like a little kiss from heaven!

We sold out of our Pork Adobo, Garlic Fried Rice, Pancit Canton, and Cantaloupe Coolers, and by the end of the day, Lala’s Kitchen had our highest gross revenue day yet. What an incredible blessing!

One of the biggest surprises was our new Filipino Feast Platter. We created it as a way for people to experience a little bit of everything Filipino cuisine has to offer, and it was a huge hit! In fact, it became our top-selling item and made up most of our sales for the day.

But as wonderful as the sales were, it was the people who made today so special.

A fellow vendor tried our food and later came back to tell us:

“If you have any doubts about your food, you can dismiss that because your food is nearly perfect.”

Another customer shared words that touched me deeply:

“I can taste your heart in every bite.”

And one sweet family told us that after visiting our booth, their children said:

“We want Lala’s for breakfast!” ❤️

There is also a very special family that has been with us since the very beginning. They were among our very first customers at the market and have returned every single week. Today, the grandfather, whom the grandchildren lovingly call “Papa,” told me:

“We’re coming every Saturday as a family to support you and enjoy the food, and we’ll keep coming until the market ends in the fall.”

As a small family business, moments like these mean more than I can put into words.

Lala’s Kitchen was built on family recipes, Filipino heritage, faith, hard work, and a love for feeding people. Every lumpia rolled, every skewer grilled, every tray of pancit and adobo served carries a piece of our story.

To everyone who stopped by, tried Filipino food for the first time, returned for another visit, brought friends and family, shared kind words, or simply supported our dream—thank you.

You are helping us build something far greater than a food business. You are helping us build a community.
