Saturday was an exciting day.
Today, we will be busy processing 2 elk. Hearing the hunting experience is as amazing as eating field to table meat all year. The highs & lows of hunting are so fun to hear about. The lessons gained are much more than hunting skills... it's patience, persistence, endurance, etc. These are, in our opinion, more valuable than reading, writing & arithmetic.
Hunting is character building & the great outdoors is the best classroom! 😊 + There is no test or measuring tool to gauge the impact of the memories & bonding! There are so many reasons why we love these experiences.
We are processing meat today but we will be roasting our Organic Coffee on Thursday!

Frog legs for supper🐸🐸
Our guys have been hunting all month & made some hunting buddies from Louisiana.
The other day, they gifted our family bags of frog legs that they caught before they came up hunting. They hauled a freezer of frogs up, as frog legs are their favorite meal. 🙃
Sharing their favorite goods with us was quite a gift. They told our boys, "Now you eat them frogs, don't throw em away!" So we cooked em up last night!
The kids & dad enjoyed them. 😉 I couldn't bring myself to eat any. But even our company that came enjoyed the frog!
And we're still alive a day later!
We survived the frog!

Summer is a wrap! About to be all things fall & we can handle that as good as we handle this iced Organic Half Caff maple syrup sweetened coffee! 😊

Sourdough.10 years ago I made a sourdough starter & been baking it up ever since. Fun fact I still use that same starter, kept it alive all this time! 😊

Birthday hike complete!
Our favorite dad & husband made another trip around the sun. We had to wait an extra week to get our hike in but ✔ we got it in!
Our 10th baby has been a little high maintenance so hiking has been on the back burner... needless to say we had all gotten a little soft in the hiking department!
Thankful for these simple outings & for celebrating our favorite person outdoors🎈🎉

Peach season is probably #3 reason that we moved to Colorado😄🍑🍑🍑
We've been harvesting our peaches all week. Been eating, freezing & making fruit leather!
When the peaches are ripe they make up 85% of our daily diet😁
It starts late July & runs through September.
Needless to say our kids are "over peaches" by the end.
They are our favorite fruit, actually favorite food!!

We used to plan our trips to visit Colorado around peach season!!

Do you have a favorite way to eat a peach or a recipe?
Ours include waffles with peaches & cream, Raised pancakes with peaches on top, peaches & yogurt, peaches on oatmeal, peaches on pizza, Peaches blended with protein shake, peach fruit leather, peach jam, peach smoothies, homeade peach popsicles, you really just can't mess up a peach! 😄

Last week our kiddos went back to school. It feels too soon!
I didn't know a summer could go so quickly. Really a lesson for us to stay present in the moment or we'll miss it all!
Prayers for a year of growth & joy. Friendship & fellowship. Experiences & curiosity... at the end of the year thats really all that matters.

Starting the day out with Fresh + Organic Coffee is the prefect beginning!
The flavor & antioxidant goodness are just unmatched😋
We are only roasting one more time in July, due to long awaited travel plans.
Torrey is taking our two oldest boys fishing in Alaska! We cannot wait to see their pictures & heart all about it. It's a10 day trip!
Our last July Roast date is July 18th. Next Tuesday! So get yours ordered. We'll ship it to you!

Rhubarb Torte was part of my childhood that brought flocks of people together to eat!
I loved the gathering but didn't care for the torte... until one day I tried!
The first Rhubarb is ready in Minnesota around the time school ends for the year & tics make their arrival!
It is the prefect balance of sweet & tart!
My mom's recipe is so delicious!
