It's about time for some more Marto barrel-aged goodness!
This Saturday, July 11th, we’re releasing four barrel-aged beers: three English-style barleywines and one “stout-wine”, a blend of barrel-aged stout and barrel-aged barleywine.
**Bling** is back. Our base English-style barleywine recipe spent 38 months in a 15-year Widow Jane bourbon barrel, coming in at 13.8% with rich malt character, medium chocolate notes, and plenty of bourbon barrel warmth.
**Radiance** returns also with a long 38-month rest, this time in an oak Port cask from Portugal that held Old Elk’s flagship high-malt bourbon. Expect the classic barleywine depth with an added layer of dark fruit and berry character.
**Sparkle** is new to the lineup, aged 38 months in a Kentucky Owl bourbon barrel, then finished with Ghana cocoa nibs and toasted coconut. Now it really Sparkles.
**Brilliance** is our barrel-aged barleywine blended with our biggest stout to date..our very first "Stout-Wine". What a brilliant idea! The barleywine rested in a Kentucky Owl bourbon barrel while the 17% stout aged in a Russell’s Reserve 10-year rye barrel, creating a rich, warming, and uniquely layered blend.
