At the present time carbon dioxide or Co2 is a trace gas of .04% of our atmosphere. Limestone was once carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide was taken from the air and oceans by plants known as Coccolithophores, Fortofera, Glabaglena and shell types. My Encyclopedia Britannica states that there are limestone calcium carbonate layers on Earth up to 12,500 feet thick. It also says that the average thickness of limestone from the Carolinas to the Rocky Mountains is 3,500 feet thick. Most of Florida is made of limestone and the white cliffs of Dover, England are limestone and I have no idea how thick those layers are. In addition the limestone plates under Los Angeles are being sub ducted amount of under the Pacific Plate into the Lithosphere. The tremendous heat down there is uniting the carbon with the hydrogen in the water to create hydrocarbons that’s why oil keeps bubbling up around Los Angeles.
Obviously creating all that limestone took hundreds of millions of years.

Dear Sir/Madam:
This letter is of utmost importance. It is about what is happening to our planet. There are a few things the government can do to lessen the impact of the problem.
I was born in Seldovia, Alaska February of 1944. I never considered myself to be an environmentalist but at age 81 I am greatly alarmed by the changes I witnessed.
Back in the 1950’s and early 1960’s you could dig a hole the size of a five gallon bucket in the beaches just about anywhere on the south side of Katchemak Bay and fill a half a bucket full of big, white, hard shell clams. The clams were larger than your fist and so healthy that they couldn’t close their shells so that the white fringes would stick out. Looking down the beaches into the sun it looked like a sprinkler system going off with clams squirting water three feet into the air. The beaches were alive with worms, snails and centipedes. Everything was moving. Now there is nothing but brown slime. Everything is dead!
We homesteaded in Tuxedni Bay on the west side of Cook Inlet. There used to be18 or 20 beluga whales that inhabited the upper bay. Now there are none!
In the 1950’s and 1960’s the air was filled with clouds of snipe so thick that they blotted out the sun. Now there are none! The July flies were so thick that they turned the beaches black. While walking down the beach you had to hold your breath to keep from chocking on them. Now there are none! Barn swallows and cliff swallows were numerous but now there are none!
In the 1960’s and 1970’s salt water ducks like Meer’s, Eider, Cormorants, Loon, Puffin, and Pintails were everywhere feeding on needle fish in the bay. This spring I saw one cormorant and one Loon. There were no other salt water ducks and no geese!
We used to have hundreds of mallard ducks but now there are none!
In the past I witnessed millions of shrimp leaping out of the water racing the outgoing tide. Now there are none!
What is causing the Earth to die and how can we fix the problem?

A commercial fisherman buyback program of salmon drift permits and boats would reduce the size of the fleet. This would allow the remaining boats to profit with larger catches.
National Marine Fisheries Service, a branch of the Federal National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has slowly increased its takeover of all Alaskan fisheries by claiming jurisdictional authority over waters three miles off the shoreline of State of Alaska. From what I understand this was done to preserve the king salmon.
We need to get the Feds to stop wasting taxpayer’s money to micromanage state resources. Get them out Alaska and allow the state to manage it’s fishery.
What nobody seems to realize is king salmon don’t eat the same food as the other species of salmon. Red salmon migrated in a large circle below the Aleutian Islands for three to four years feeding on krill. Krill are red. That is why red salmon have red meat.
King salmon spend their time in the ocean in the Gulf of Alaska feeding on herring and needle fish. King salmon can stay in the ocean four to eight years before returning to the rivers to spawn. Because king salmon stay in the oceans longer than red salmon or sockeye they are subject to ocean predation for a longer time.
Another reason king salmon are in danger is the United State Navy performs Navel exercises in the Gulf of Alaska dropping depth charges and bombs blowing the ear drums of whales, sea lions, pourpus and dolphins. This can’t be good for the king salmon.

What is causing this huge die off of so many species of birds, fish and aquatic species?

Japan, China, Korea, Russia, Norway, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Argentina, Chili, and many other nations are all using huge trawl nets to harvest millions of tons of Pollack and other fish that are food for sea lions, beluga whales and other top predators like killer whales. This causes the killer whales to eat the beluga whales in order to survive. Killer whales also eat salmon and sea lions because they have to eat to survive. The starving sea lions are eating the salmon.
Because king salmon stay at sea longer than other species of salmon they are prime targets for sea lions and everything that eats salmon including sharks. Then you have the hungry sharks.
The only solution to the problem is to reduce the high seas catch of fish to restore the balance of the food chain. To do that, embargos, treaties and agreements have to be drawn up with other nations and they must be enforced.

To feed the world’s ever growing population inshore aquaculture must increase. China and Saudi Arabia are growing fish in the deserts. If you don’t believe me check it out! Some nations are smart enough to see a solution to this ever growing problem and doing something about it.
We need to get Donald Trump and other high up officials to act on this looming food disaster. It seems people in the United States and Alaska aren’t smart enough to see the problem let alone do something about it.
