Thank you. Truly.
The support you’ve shown Songbird Sourdough this season has been nothing short of incredible… and we’re just getting started.
I almost had a complete sellout at SOAM but to be fair, I showed up locked and loaded with 130 loaves of bread, 30 boxes of muffins, 24 boxes of cookies, bagels, granola, and a whole table full of treats. I came home with just eight loaves of bread, which were promptly donated to my veteran friends over on Pine Street. Nothing goes to waste if I can help it.
The truth is, not every market is like that. Sometimes you have a phenomenal day, and sometimes you don’t. It isn’t always the management, the weather, or the product. Sometimes it just isn’t the day. I’ve had those markets before, and I’m sure I’ll have them again. That’s part of being a small business.
But right now… you all are absolutely knocking it out of the park for me.
Marion has welcomed me with open arms, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I brought 100 loaves of bread to Tuesday’s market and sold every single one along with every muffin and every cookie. I’m starting to recognize familiar faces waiting for the market to open so they can grab their favorite loaf or muffins before they’re gone. That’s something I never take for granted.
I’m looking forward to building even more friendships and becoming part of the Marion community.
As for any bread that hangs around a little too long before it’s no longer fit for people, it has a very appreciative second home at Stony Creek Farm. Apparently the animals have incredibly bougie taste… because they absolutely love sourdough. Honestly? I respect it.
To my regulars that I haven’t seen yet this season I’m still here, and I’m still baking for you. My schedule has shifted a bit with the markets, but I want to make sure you’re getting exactly what you want. If it’s been a couple of weeks, reach out! Give me a call or send me a message to see what’s on this week’s menu.
And finally…
I just picked up the most beautiful peaches straight from Georgia, and I cannot wait to start baking. Think Peach Cobbler Sourdough, Bourbon Peach Muffins, maybe some flaky hand pies… and who knows what else I’ll dream up.
Stay tuned and when pre-orders open, don’t wait too long. I have a feeling these are going to disappear fast.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting this little bakery. Every loaf, every bagel, every conversation at my market table helps keep this dream alive.
See you at the next market.
