Hi, I’m Lindsay, owner of Tanglewood Farm Bed and Breakfast and Tanglewood Farm Food Truck. We opened Tanglewood Farm Bed and Breakfast in 2012 and have been part of the Southern Pines community ever since. In 2022, the food truck followed, along with our cake business, Pony Cakes, and then Fox & Cream Artisan Cheesecakes. We’re so excited to be partnering with Swank Coffee Shoppe & Handmade Market, and to continue the beautiful work Leslie of Thyme & Place began — bringing handcrafted sandwiches, baked goods, and other handmade treats to the Swank community.

Thyme to say farewell.
After 11 years in business, Thyme & Place is hanging up its spoons, and Leslie is cracking her last egg at the end of this month. Swank will continue to carry her lovely sweets for a period. We wish her the best in her future endeavors, which will involve philanthropic work, getting back to her horses, time, and traveling with her husband, and, of course, a lot fewer trips to the grocery store. You will be missed, friend.

How long have you owned Swank, and what's your favorite part of the job?

"I've owned Swank for 13 years. The original owners were ready to start their families, and sold it to me in 2013. In 2027, we'll be celebrating 20 years in business! My favorite part of being a business owner is our customers. The sense of community in Southern Pines is very unique and special. Our customers embody the small town spirit, and keep our local shops thriving. The interactions I've had over the years with our customers are process to me."

Tell us about your favorite drink on the menu

"I actually have two favorite drinks! My favorite summertime drink is an iced peppermint mocha... So refreshing!!! I also loooooove hot toasted marshmallow mocha lattes. Neither of these are on our regular menu, but I highly recommend!"

When you're not at Swank, what are your favorite things to do?

"I'm the happiest when I'm outside. Gliding down a river in my kayak with my two doxies and my hubby is heaven to me. I love hiking and exploring. Spending time in Utah has kindled a love affair with our National Parks and wild rugged lands."

What's your favorite song?

"My favorite song is A Beautiful Day by U2!"
