Most of you know him as Kyle the pizza/tattoo guy.

We know him as Kyle our son in law, Baylee's husband.

Back in the spring of 22 my unemployment was about to run it course, after the company I worked for, closed after 30 some years.

I don't really sit still very well, (no pun intended) Kyle and Baylee had just opened the tattoo studio, and there just wasn't enough hours in the day, Kyle asked me if I would be interested in doing some administrative work for him at Cheese Nuts.

My thought was sure why not, a few hours a day, keep me busy for a bit. Little did we know that, that part time job would turn into a full time life change.

The fall of 22 with Kyle's help and blessing Rubi's was born. We have worked very hard to make an excellent product for you, make each of you feel seen, heard, and appreciated. To support our local communities and to give back wherever possible.

We are thrilled Kyle and Baylee were able to revive Cheese Nuts Fast-Fired Pizza and that it has been so well received in Metamora.

You can't go wrong with either pizza, they are different but equally as yummy.

Tomorrow you get to meet our grandkids.

This is Baylee our oldest daughter. She is the Queen of fine line and floral tattoos in the Peoria area (maybe the whole universe but I may be partial).

She also had a severe lactose allergy as a baby, before it became widely recognized and treated. Then it was still called "colic" .

She also enjoys cooking for her family, and an occasional brickoven pizza. That's a story for another day.

Food allergies

This is our youngest daughter J (and her significant other)

Since birth she has had some severe food allergies and sensitivities. Her biggest allergen whey, the protein in cows milk, it is also used in almost all processed foods, especially baby food.

So we had to make all her food from scratch. To this day she will eat frozen peas from the bag like popcorn, over something sweet and processed.

So yes we understand food allergies and will do everything we can to protect you from cross contamination if you also have this battle.

It's been a few years, so I thought it might be a good time to tell all our new friends who we are, how we got started, and why we love doing what we do.

Let's start with our mom's.

Dan's mom enjoyed cooking for her family, sadly she is no longer on this side of Heaven with us, but I am blessed to have a recipe of hers in her handwriting.

My mom has always been a cook from scratch with a "sprinkle of love" kind of cook. We owned and operated Cristy's Tearoom in Morton for 3 years, and loved every minute of it.

So I guess our love of cooking comes from them.
