Our third year at the Boro BBQ Festival was a huge success. Last year, we took home 4th in Chicken and 3rd in Ribs while it poured rain on us and we cooked standing in 3 inches of mud. This year, we had an absolutely beautiful Saturday even though Friday night was a bit chilly. We managed to improve across the board but our Anything Butt kept us from making a run for GC. Mathematically, we should be able to make a run for first in chicken in 2028 and a first in Anything Butt sometime in 2042 based on our current trajectory so lookout for Sh**un BBQ on the Retirement Home Circuit around then. We're already working on recipes to be more compatible with dentures and diabetes.

It's always great to hang out with a ton of great cooks that are also great people. Congratulations to Armstrong Smoke & Co. on a very well deserved First (fifth) Responder award and RGC. It was great meeting you guys even though rain can do your job.
Congratulations to The Big B Barbecue Company for handing us yet another ass whoopin' and claiming that GC. Jewell and I were talking and we decided you would do very well moving to Texas and setting up shop there. Just leave the Middle Tennessee contests in your rearview mirror. Let us know if you need help with travel accommodations or moving.
The Murfreesboro Rotary Club and Hop Springs did a great job with the event. There was live music and over 100 vendors this year with 11,000 attendees at the gate.
