Guests this fall have been enjoying a slice of Caramel Apple Crunch Cake in the evenings. There is shredded apple in the batter, a cinnamon cream cheese frosting, drizzled with caramel and toffee bits! Yum Yum!!!

Dreams do come true! Last week Justin found his Shrimp Camarones! This was his favorite dish in Oregon, and when we moved here we could not find it at any Mexican restaurant. They may have it on the menu, but it isn't made like his favorite. Each shrimp is wrapped in bacon! Well, a couple weeks ago we were in Campbellsville and stopped at Mi Herradero for lunch. Jackpot! He said they were just as good as the ones in Oregon! Score!

Forgive us, it has taken us 4 and a half years to get to the Louisville Zoo! Now, it's not just because we procrastinated, or work all the time. We purposely did not go during the hot summer months, knowing that most of the animals would just be napping in the shade out of sight.

The Zoo is amazing! We both came away thinking it was the best Zoo we have been to. It is so well laid out, the variety of animals is impressive (although there are no elephants) and there is plenty to fill an afternoon of entertainment. I am sure it helped that almost all of the animals were active and visible.

So, when you plan your next Kentucky vacation, be sure to schedule in full half day for the Louisville Zoo. And, if you have never been, enjoy the Mega Caverns under the zoo for the 2nd half of your day!
