While our students are still enjoying summer break, your cafeteria teams are already preparing for a great school year! 🍎💜

This week, new Child Nutrition managers from across Alabama gathered for training, learning everything from financial management and food safety to leadership, communication, and creating positive dining experiences for students.

I was proud to represent Springville Intermediate School, alongside fellow St. Clair County Child Nutrition leaders. One of the things I love most about our district is that we don't work in silos—we learn from one another, support one another, and share ideas because, at the end of the day, we're all working toward the same goal: serving our students well.

Every training attended, every idea shared, and every new skill learned is another investment in the children and families we serve.

We're looking forward to welcoming everyone back soon. We can't wait to see you in the cafeteria! 💜💛🐯

🐾💜💛 Please join us in welcoming Shelly Putnam as the new CNP Assistant Manager for Springville Intermediate School! 💛💜🐾

Shelly brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and heart to our cafeteria team. If you've ever been part of one of our Thanksgiving meals, you've probably already seen her in action! From planning and preparation to organization and ex*****on, she has Thanksgiving down to a science and helps make one of our biggest events of the year a success.

Shelly is known for being incredibly hardworking, detail-oriented, and always thinking several steps ahead. She has a true gift for keeping things organized and running smoothly, even during the busiest days.

When she's not helping feed and care for our students, you'll likely find her spending time with her beloved puppy dogs or enjoying her newest role as a proud grandmother. ❤️

We are excited for the leadership, experience, and positive energy Shelly brings to Springville Intermediate School. Our students, staff, and school community are fortunate to have her on Team Tiger!

School may have ended, but our aprons are still on! 🍎☀️

This summer, we're still serving breakfast and lunch to students attending EdStream and Literacy Camp while working behind the scenes to get ready for the new school year. From menu planning and training to equipment projects and staffing, there's a lot happening even when the cafeteria isn't full of students.

Feeding kids is what we do—and that mission doesn't stop when summer starts.

💛 We may not have a full building of students right now, but our cafeteria is still serving children this summer through EdStream and Literacy Camp.

Posts like this remind us why we do what we do.

Long before most people are awake, school nutrition professionals are working behind the scenes to prepare meals, meet strict nutrition and food safety standards, and make sure students have the fuel they need to learn and grow.

It's not always glamorous, and much of the work happens where no one sees it...but it's work we're proud to do.

Here's to all the lunch ladies, managers, assistants, and school nutrition professionals spending their summer continuing to care for kids. 💛

One team. One kitchen. A whole lot of love, laughter, early mornings, and memories. 💜🐅

Today was our last day together as the Springville Middle School CNP team before we split off into new chapters at SMS, SIS, and the High School. While change is never easy, I couldn’t be more proud of this group of hardworking women and everything we’ve built together over the years.

These ladies have served thousands of meals, wiped countless tears, celebrated victories big and small, and shown up for kids every single day…even on the hard days. That kind of work leaves a mark on a school and on each other.

And today, we also wore pink in support of our sweet Shelly, who is fighting cancer with the same strength and determination she brings into the kitchen every day. We love you, Shelly, and we are behind you all the way. 💕🎀

No matter where we go next, a piece of this team will always stay together.

Not only is she incredibly hardworking, but her amazing flair for detail helps everything run smoothly and ensures students have the best experience possible. From the little things to the big picture, Annelies always goes above and beyond with care and kindness.
