As many of you know, The Cookie Bar - St. Clair was created by accident during the original COVID-19 shut down. With your help I was able to turn a surprise hobby into a full-time job that I truly enjoyed for the last few years.
A lot of you quickly became regulars and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for continually trusting me over the years to be a small part of your major milestones. I want to thank those who sent me new customers and went out of their way to stop by my events and share my stuff online. Running a successful business is much easier when you have wonderful customers supporting you!
✨ Which brings me to the bittersweet announcement - The Cookie Bar is closing up shop! ✨
This was not an easy decision, but one that I feel is necessary at the moment. As you know, I had spinal surgery at the beginning of the year and I was unable to lift/push/pull/turn/etc. for months and so I started looking for a temporary job to do while I continue to heal.
I ended up getting a full-time job offer that I just couldn’t pass up. I went to college and earned my degree in Advertising & Sales and with this new opportunity it will let me utilize those skills and continue to grow. So while I love the flexibility of working from home and being my own boss, my dream was never to be a full-time home baker.
However, I know there are so many talented bakers in our area who will be happy to make all your cookie dreams come true and maybe one day I will bust out the cookie trays again and pick up where I left off!
Until then, I really am going to miss being a part of your annual traditions. For some of you I was lucky enough to do Bridal shower cookies, Baby shower cookies, and then even a First birthday set of cookies. For others I did Sweet 16 cookies and graduation cookies a couple years later.
I have had Christmas cards sent to me, pictures drawn and left as gifts, get well soon messages flooded in left and right when I was sick, and I never took any of it for granted. I really will miss it!
So again, thank you all SO MUCH for the endless support! I will leave my account up for a few weeks so people can see this post, but then I will be deactivating it along with my website.
If you know any great, local bakers please feel free to put their information in the comments below.
I will be selling a few things and will post them on here over the next couple of weeks so please check back if you think you may be interested.
Thank you all again, sorry for the extra lengthy post!
With love,
Kyla - a.k.a The Cookie Lady

Fun fact: The cookies in the pictures below are the three batches of cookies I made during quarantine and posted before I turned this into a business! Those were the cookies that got me started 💜
