Yesterday we were visited by the man, the myth, the legend Thomas Keller. His kind hosts Dr. Tim Ryan Chancellor of the Culinary Institute of America and his wife Lynne Ryan braced me for the impact just hours before their arrival.
FYI Thomas Keller is the only American chef to have been awarded simultaneous three-star Michelin ratings for two different restaurants. In addition his restaurant The French Laundry was a perennial winner in the annual Restaurant list of the Top 50 Restaurants of the World

BTW We at River & Post have simultaneously awarded ourselves three-star Staatsburg ratings for one different restaurant.

What a monumental dude, so cool, so kind, so inspiring. 🤟

My Friend, My Friend
Brian is a one of a kind person and friend.

I first met Brian at our previous restaurant Liberty Public House in Rhinebeck. We worked together and it felt less like a job with him being there. We also shared unforgettable moments at many Phish shows.
Even though he no longer lives in the Hudson Valley we still try to steal whatever time we can to catch up and celebrate life.

One of our fun evenings in the Valley was a bar hop of NA beers and Mocktails. This was the night that inspired the “free spirits” we have on our menu.

His clean way of life is inspiring and his work ethic is mind blowing. He is a creator of so many worlds. Dipping all of his toes into music, art, media and the list continues to grow.

I get my daily dose of music and cultural info from his insta site PHILM. Not to mention new leads on music for our River & Post playlist. If you like an incredibly interesting melange of new and recently rediscovered curated cultural intel, head there.❤️🤟

This winter we have decided not to take the fried chicken off of the menu completely and will still have it offered on Sundays throughout the whole winter season.
