Did you know we recycle our food scraps? Each week Barthold Recycling comes out to pick up our thrown out food. The food is picked up, brought back to the farm, cooked, and served as feed to pigs. It has advantages over other forms of recycling. It removes food scraps that would have ended up in landfills, producing methane. It’s the only method of food-scrap recycling that produces food, instead of compost.

Joseph’s uses this service as well as Lake Elmo Inn. What a great alternative to land fills.
Saving the planet bit by bit, piece by piece, making a effort is the first step. You can also by recycling everything you can.
