Please come to Stockbridge City Hall tonight 6:00 pm and show support for keeping the name of South Lee Street the same. The City of Stockbridge wants to change the street name to Martin Luther King Way. The street was named after the mayor of Stockbridge who brought electricity to Stockbridge and worked on having Hwy. 42 Paved to Atlanta so the people of Stockbridge were connected to the city. His Father helped build Stockbridge High school. They lived on South Lee Stockbridge from 1899 until purchased in 1996. We feel this street name should remain the same because of the history behind the name.
