Do you find yourself gainfully unemployed? Want to change that?
Well, fortunately for you, Sgt. Pepperoni is hiring!
First off, you are probably wondering what you are getting yourself into by applying here.
Well, in general people seem to like us. It gets kinda weird in here but if that is your vibe, apply away. We got TV and movies and music and screaming drunk people from the bar. All of the comforts of home.
We get into philosophical debates about life the universe and everything, and the finer points of Garfield Erotica. Sometimes we even make a pizza or two.
But of course a job isn't just about the bizarre people you might be working with, what does the actual job itself entail? Well, if you are familiar with Sgt Peps at all, you know it gets pretty busy. Like, a lot busy. At times you might even say 10/10 busy. Phones are ringin' music is bumpin' sometimes the oven catches on fire a little bit. Sometimes the delivery drivers accidentally put orders too close to the heating elements and those catch on fire a little bit. But it is a kitchen, you always expect at least a little bit of fire.
What I am trying to get at here is it can be a very hectic and stressful environment. If this sounds like som**hing you would have an issue with, be forewarned. When s**t hits the fan, it usually does so with a vengeance. At the same time, there is a good amount of slower periods as well where you get to chill out, watch some movies, form bonds with your coworkers, etc. Hell, we even feed you while you work. You might even get a chance to try one of our experiments, like the infamous beannzza. Or maybe even a Garfield Meltdown.
The other big thing is the hours. We are a haven for the nightowls of the world. Have a tough time waking up before noon? Awesome. We are probably your people. Shifts run until close, so 2 am weekdays and 3 am weekends, plus an hour or so for cleanup afterwards. Also, we do require at least one weekend shift per week out of our employees since that is our busiest time (but you don't need to work the entire weekend if you don't want to - we know you probably want to go out and do your own thing). These shifts can be very long as well so be ready to be on your feet for very long periods of time.
As a driver, you need a car. And it has to be a street legal, registered and insured, functional vehicle. Reliable is nice. We don't wanna be running around at 1 am trying to rebuild your motor in the dark because you haven't changed your oil since 2007. You also need a working phone (which these days, who doesn't, but still need to ask). During down time when there aren't deliveries you get to do the dishes and maybe even help with prep if we decide we can trust you with knives. It is always a plus if you know the dorms/surrounding area but it is absolutely not a requirement. You pick that stuff up mighty quick.
Inside people all start on the phones. It can get intense back there, between multiple lines ringing, tablets spitting out online orders, all while trying to decipher what the drunk guy on the phone is trying to order. After we feel you have a good handle on the phones, we can start teaching you prep, how to run the grill, etc. Once again, experience in a restaurant environment is a plus, but not required. We will train you.
SO if survived this massive wall of text and this still sounds alright to you, feel free to apply! It is as easy as heading over to sgtpeps.com clicking the now hiring link up top, and filling out whatever stuff we ask you on there.
Got any questions? Feel free to ask here. With a bit of luck, I should be able to get the notification and answer in a somewhat timely fashion.
