Halloween weekend in Stuart, and Ruby's is ready for you!

Weekend nights here already have a certain pull to them. Add Halloween to the mix, and the whole town comes alive.

We've got karaoke, a kitchen firing on all cylinders, and every seat in the house filling up with people who know where the night belongs. Half-pound burgers, that award-winning breaded pork tenderloin, cheeseballs, rings, the works. Come hungry. We mean it.

Some tables have been claimed for decades

You know the one. Corner table, middle of the week, a Zipp's pizza on the way out. Some folks in this town have been doing exactly that for years now.

Wednesday has a rhythm here, and it's a good one. Come in, slide into a seat, let the week reset a little. The pizza shows up hot, the table holds however many you've got, and Stuart keeps doing what Stuart does.

We've been part of this community since 1947. Some traditions just stick because they're worth keeping. 🍕

Ruby's is up for Best Place for a Date, which might be the nicest thing anyone has said about us this year.

We're a small town bar and grill, so a date here is a table, a burger, and somebody you actually want to sit across from. We're even a great spot for a bad Tinder date.

Four big screens. A half-pound burger in front of you. People around you who actually care who wins.

There's nothing wrong with watching from the couch, but there's something right about watching it here. The kitchen's ready, the seats fill up fast on game days, and the energy in this room when something big happens is the kind of thing you just don't get at home.

You know that moment when you pick it up and your hands remember it's real? That's a half-pound, hand-pattied burger. On a cold October afternoon, it hits different.

Same burger we've always made. Nothing changed except the weather, and somehow that makes it better. The kind of meal that earns the drive, fills the table, and keeps you warm on the way home.

The burgers are going, the onion rings are hot, and there's a mic up front just waiting on the right moment. You know how it feels right before someone steps up. The room gets a little quieter. Then it doesn't.

They didn't know whose kitchen made it. They just knew it was one of the best in Iowa

Anonymous judges. 532 restaurants. Nearly 6,000 nominations from real Iowans who know their pork tenderloins.

When the judges sat down to eat ours, they had no idea it came out of a little bar kitchen on 2nd Street in Stuart. No name. No reputation to lean on. Just the tenderloin itself. Hand-breaded, pounded right, fried the way it's supposed to be. It earned 2024 Runner-Up in Iowa's Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin Contest on its own merits. Final five out of 532. We're proud of that.
