I realize that I've been pretty quiet on my Caked! by Kate page this summer and start to fall! I have many cake and cupcake pictures to load on from this amazing but busy summer. I also baked for a close friend's wedding a few weekends ago on a stunning location in Grand Isle, VT.
It's with much reluctance that I am posting this. After my Mario-rific birthday cake for a super seven-year old tomorrow, I will be taking a (hopefully) brief hiatus. I just returned to work after being home for two joyous, family-filled years. Although I absolutely love my job, it's definitely taking some adjustment schedule-wise, especially with two elementary-school children and one full-time daycare child. "Caking" is something I started to bring me joy, give me a creative outlet, and of course give me an excuse to play in my kitchen and make people happy! I have decided that it is best to take a break until my family and I all re-adjust to me working full-time outside of my home. I am hoping to be able to ease back in with smaller jobs like cupcakes and simply piped cakes late fall-early winter. That said, I already know I'm going to miss it! So...feel free to drop me an email if you know of a date in advance and I may possibly be ready to start up again!
