🚨🚨🚨Hello everybody it's Thursday! And yes we are open, we will be here till 7pm. So come on down and try the (original) traditional 100% corn tortillas. we make them on site. We know alot of people it's curious of why our tortillas have different colors, we will try explain a little bit of how we obtain those colors, remember we don't use any coloring or artificial ingredients. So let's begin by saying that there are many different colors of corn :magenta, red, scarlet, pink, yellow, orange, bright blue, dark blue, light blue, black, purple, maroon, brown, white, and even cream. Right now we are only using 3 different colors of corn at los hijos del maiz due to the reason that our supplier only brings those 3 colors to the USA. So in order to obtain these delicious tortillas there is a long process, so we begin cooking the corn in boiling water then we have to let the (nixtamal) corn set for at least 8 hours before we can begin to grind the niztamal, then it becomes masa which is what we use to make the tortillas with, we use a press to press them, and then it's cook on the griddle and it's ready for a taco or Quesadilla machete or whatever you like to make. Again we would like to invite everybody to come and try our tortillas freshly made daily.🚨🚨🚨
